From spreadsheets to smarter cyber security solutions in real time

OQLIS enables faster, data-driven security responses with automated data collection for Gijima.

Gijima is a leading South African ICT company. On the cutting edge of technology, cybersecurity, and digital transformation since 1998, they have been delivering smart solutions to clients across industries like transportation, healthcare, mining, and education. Their focus is on innovation and delivering solutions that make technology simpler and more effective for their clients.

The business challenge

Gijima was handling massive amounts of data drawn from multiple platforms daily and was looking for a more efficient way to manage and analyse the information. They had a manual-intensive reporting process in place that was not only time-consuming but limited their ability to gain real-time insights for faster, data-driven decision-making.

There were several issues they needed a solution for:

  • The manual data extraction process – It was slow and time-consuming as the data had to be exported into Excel charts and then PowerPoint slides. This left little time for actual insights and analysis of the data.
  • The inability to gain and use real-time data – Reports were usually only generated monthly, with some weekly, creating a delay in data analysis, preventing them from making decisions in real time.
  • Their data was fragmented – Because the data came from different systems, it was difficult to get a single unified, real-time view.

The Solution

Gijima partnered with OQLIS to find a smarter, more efficient way to manage and analyse its data without the bottlenecks of manual reporting. After a short proof-of-concept period, Gijima saw the value of OQLIS’s solution, and they implemented the full solution.

The implementation included:

  • Automated data integration – OQLIS connected multiple platforms via API, integrating into a single-store database.
  • Improved data access – Making sure the right teams have the right access to the data at the right time, both internally and for customers.
  • Real-time reporting – Dashboards provide instant insights, replacing slow, month-end reporting cycles.
  • Centralised analytics – A single, unified platform centralises data from different sources, making analysis faster and easier.

The results

By implementing OQLIS, Gijima transformed its reporting and data management processes, leading to significant improvements in efficiency and decision-making. They have already onboarded 13 of their cyber security customers and are currently running 720 integrations daily across their client base, reporting and processing around 50 million rows of data.

  • Faster reporting – The automated process streamlines their reporting process, which means they have more time to focus on what really matters: data analysis and insights.
  • Real-time insights – Access to live dashboards provides up-to-date data for quicker, more accurate, and better-informed decision-making.
  • Seamless data integration – With multiple data sources unified, they now have a single view of the data they need in real time.
  • Improved accessibility – Teams can access the important data they need when they need it, without any delays or the need for complex data manipulation.
  • Better resource allocation – With less time spent on manual data reporting, Gijima can

“Consolidating data from different tool sets manually is a tedious task. OQLIS has helped us automatically consolidate data from multiple tool sets and produce data of value for our customers in real time. This helped us improve our operational efficiency, decision-making, and, most importantly, the customer experience.”
